Pirates acquire P Worley from Twins

Bradenton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired pitcher Vance Worley from the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations.

Worley, who was outrighted to the minors off Minnesota's roster on Friday, posted a 1-5 mark with a 7.21 earned run average over 10 starts last season. The Twins acquired Worley in a trade with Philadelphia for center fielder Ben Revere last offseason.

Worley's best season came in 2011 when he went 11-3 with a 3.01 ERA. Over 63 games -- 56 starts -- with the Phillies and Twins, Worley is 19-18 with a 4.05 ERA.
