Phillies release Cedeno

Clearwater, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies released infielder Ronny Cedeno on Tuesday.

Cedeno, 31, hit just .182 in 22 at-bats this spring training after being brought to camp as a non-roster invitee.

In 89 games last season with Houston and San Diego, Cedeno hit .242 with three homers and 21 RBI. He is a career .246 hitter with 40 homers and 239 RBI in nine years with the Cubs, Mariners, Pirates, Mets, Astros and Padres.
