Cincinnati falls to Oakland in spring training

Brandon Moss staked the Athletics to an early lead with a three-run homer in the second inning, and Oakland went on to beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-4 in spring training on Monday.

Derek Norris went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI and Josh Reddick homered and drove in a pair of runs for the A's, whose starter, Tommy Milone, surrendered four runs -- three earned -- on five hits over five frames.

Jeff Francis was tagged for five runs on six hits in his four-inning start for the Reds, who received two RBI from Billy Hamilton and a solo homer from Brandon Phillips.
