Cleveland defeats Cincinnati in spring training

Jason Kipnis smacked a three-run homer and the Cleveland Indians defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3, in spring training action.

Jason Kipnis smacked a three-run homer and the Cleveland Indians defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3, in spring training action.

Ryan Raburn cracked a two-run shot and Lonnie Chisenhall added a solo blast for the Tribe. Starter Carlos Carrasco allowed three runs on nine hits while striking out five over six innings.

Joey Votto tallied two hits and scored a pair of runs for Cincinnati. Starter Alfredo Simon yielded four runs -- three earned -- on six hits and a walk over five frames.
