California Chrome favored in final Future Wager

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - San Felipe Stakes winner California Chrome has been installed as the 5-1 morning-line favorite for this week's fourth and final Kentucky Derby Future Wager for the 140th Run for the Roses on May 3.

The final Future Wager begins Thursday at noon (et) and closes Saturday at 6 p.m., prior to the start of the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park and the running of the Louisiana Derby from Fair Grounds. Listed are 23 individual 3- year-olds and the mutuel field of "All Others."

California Chrome has won both starts this year at Santa Anita. He won the California Cup Derby on Jan. 25 after closing his 2013 campaign by winning the King Glorious Stakes. The colt will start next on April 5 in the Santa Anita Derby.

Holy Bull Stakes winner Cairo Prince is the 6-1 second choice. The colt will start in the Florida Derby, where he is expected to be the favorite.

The mutuel field is the 8-1 third pick in the early line of 24 betting interests.
