Tampa Bay swats down Baltimore

Wil Myers, Sean Rodriguez and Jayson Nix all swatted home runs in the Tampa Bay Rays' 7-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in spring training play.

Wil Myers, Sean Rodriguez and Jayson Nix all swatted home runs in the Tampa Bay Rays' 7-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in spring training play.

Myers' solo blast off Wei-Yin Chen in the opening inning accounted for the Rays' initial run, while Rodriguez belted a two-run homer off Chen in the third to give Tampa Bay a 4-1 lead. Nix added a solo shot against Suk-min Yoon in the fifth.

Wilson Betemit added a pair of RBI doubles and Logan Forsythe finished 2-for-3 for Tampa Bay, which tagged Chen for six runs on 10 hits over the first 3 2/3 innings of play.

Adam Jones paced Baltimore offensively by going 2-for-3 with a solo homer and three runs scored, with Delmon Young also collecting a pair of hits in the loss.
