Suspended Blue Jackets-Stars game rescheduled

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The National Hockey League announced that last Monday's suspended Blue Jackets-Stars game in Dallas has been rescheduled for April 9.

The initial matchup was stopped with 6:23 played in the opening period after Stars forward Rich Peverley collapsed on the Dallas bench and suffered what was later called a cardiac episode. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and finally released on Thursday. Columbus was ahead 1-0 at the time.

When the two clubs meet once more at American Airlines Center, the game will be played in its entirety from the moment it was halted.

It was a similar situation to the one the Predators and Red Wings found themselves as Joe Louis Arena on Nov. 21, 2005, when Detroit defenseman Jiri Fischer had a similar medical emergency. That contest was also suspended and replayed later in the season from the time of the original stoppage.
