Colorado slides by San Diego in Cactus League play

Josh Rutledge and Tim Wheeler both homered in the Colorado Rockies' 9-7 win over San Diego in Cactus League play on Monday.

Josh Rutledge and Tim Wheeler both homered in the Colorado Rockies' 9-7 win over San Diego in Cactus League play on Monday.

Rutledge went 3-for-4 and scored twice while Jason Pridie had four hits -- three singles and a double -- in four plate appearances for the Rockies, who hit 7-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

Brett Anderson went six innings, scattering five runs -- three earned -- on eight hits while striking out five.

San Diego starter Tyson Ross was reached for six runs on 12 hits in 4 1/3 frames. Xavier Nady went yard in the setback.
