Pelicans push past Celtics in overtime

Anthony Davis posted 40 points and 21 rebounds to carry the New Orleans Pelicans past the Boston Celtics 121-120 in an overtime-thriller on Sunday.

Anthony Davis posted 40 points and 21 rebounds to carry the New Orleans Pelicans past the Boston Celtics 121-120 in an overtime-thriller on Sunday.

Davis surpassed his career-highs in points and rebounds while also becoming the first player in Pelican history to record a 40-point/20-rebound game.

Tyreke Evans scored 26 and Eric Gordon added 19 points and eight assists for the Pelicans, who snapped a two-game skid.

Jeff Green had a team-high 39 points and grabbed six boards and Kris Humphries chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics, who have lost six of their last eight. Jared Sullinger and Avery Bradley contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively, with Sullinger adding nine rebounds.
