The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Chris Clemons on Thursday, one day after the defensive end was released by the Seattle Seahawks.

Clemons tallied 11 or more sacks in each of his first three seasons in Seattle. The 32-year-old suffered a torn ACL in the Seahawks' win over Washington in the 2012 playoffs, however, and recorded just 4 1/2 sacks along with 24 tackles in 14 games after returning from the injury this past season.

Clemons was deemed expendable after the Seahawks' recent re-signing of end Michael Bennett, Seattle's leader with 8 1/2 sacks during the club's march to its first NFL title.

A 10-year veteran who broke into the NFL with Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2003, Clemons has compiled 58 sacks, 13 forced fumbles and 226 tackles over 130 career games with the Redskins, Oakland, Philadelphia and Seattle.
