Cleveland minces Kansas City 12-6

Matt Carson went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals, 12-6, in Cactus League play on Thursday.

Matt Carson went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals, 12-6, in Cactus League play on Thursday.

Elliot Johnson also homered and David Cooper laced an two-run double for Cleveland, which scored nine runs total in the seventh and eighth innings. Indians starter Zach McAllister allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings.

Eric Hosmer went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored for the Royals, who saw starter Jeremy Guthrie allow three runs -- two earned -- with five strikeouts over three innings of work.
