Ware agrees to terms with Broncos

(SportsNetwork.com) - DeMarcus Ware is heading to Denver.

Pending a physical, the Broncos and Ware have reached an agreement on a three- year deal worth $30 million, with $20 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports.

The addition of Ware gives the Broncos the best pass-rushing duo in the NFL. Ware prefers to line up at right defensive end and pass-rushing linebacker Von Miller likes the left side.

The Dallas Cowboys surprisingly released Ware on Tuesday, prior to the opening of free agency. Ware's cap hit for the 2014 season was to be $16 million.

The 31-year-old Ware has totaled 117 sacks since 2005, when Dallas selected him in the first round (11th overall) of that year's draft.

Ware compiled 40 tackles and six sacks while participating in 13 games for the Cowboys in 2013 -- the first time in his career he failed to see action in every contest during a given season. A strained quad suffered in October cost the Troy product three games mid-season.

In 141 games with the Cowboys, Ware racked up 574 tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, in addition to the overall club record for taking down the quarterback. Ware set a single-season sacks record with 20 in 2008.

The news about Ware follows Denver signing safety T.J. Ward and lockdown corner Aqib Talib on Tuesday.
