Pittsburgh takes Minnesota in spring training 8-4

Pedro Alvarez and Travis Ishikawa each smacked a two-run homer and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Minnesota Twins, 8-4, in spring training action.

Fort Myers, Fla. -- Pedro Alvarez and Travis Ishikawa each smacked a two-run homer and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Minnesota Twins, 8-4, in spring training action.

Jaff Decker ripped a double and scored a run for the Pirates. Starter Gerrit Cole allowed an unearned run on three hits and a walk over three innings.

Chris Colabello cracked a two-run shot and Aaron Hicks added a solo homer for Minnesota. Starter Kevin Correia surrendered four runs on seven hits over three frames.
