PRINCETON, N.J. (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Bray scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Princeton Tigers to a 70-65 win over the Penn Quakers in the final Ivy league clash of the season at Jadwin Gymnasium.
Steven Cook came off the bench to score 14 points for Princeton (20-8, 8-6 Ivy), while Clay Wilson connected on 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range and 3- of-4 from the free-throw line for 12 points. The Tigers won five consecutive games to end their season.
Fran Dougherty netted a game-high 20 points with nine rebounds for Penn (8-20, 5-9), which ends the season having lost four of its last five games. Darien Nelson-Henry chipped in 18 points, and Miles Cartwright added 12 with six assists in the loss.
Penn connected on 41.9 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, despite going 3-of-10 from 3-point range, to take a 31-29 lead over Princeton at the intermission. The Tigers hit 39.3 percent of their shot attempts, and went 5-of-14 from 3-point distance.
Princeton opened things up in the second half by netting 47.8 percent of its shots, and also connecting on 16-of-25 from the free-throw line. The Quakers improved to 46.4 percent shooting in the period, but hit just 2-of-8 from deep and 6-of-12 from the charity stripe as the Tigers came back to earn the five- point win.
Princeton dominated Penn in bench scoring, 31-6, and owned a 10-point edge from the free-throw line, 18-8. Penn won the battle in points in the paint, 38-28.
