Kings sign Royce White to 10-day contract

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Royce White has found a new NBA team. The former Houston Rockets first-round pick signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

White, the 16th overall choice in the 2012 NBA Draft who has yet to appear in an NBA game due to a well-publicized anxiety disorder, will initially report to the Kings' Development League affiliate in Reno.

The 22-year-old had a brief and turbulent tenure with the Rockets, who suspended White in January of 2013 following a disagreement with the team on how to treat his anxiety issues, which include a fear of flying. White refused to accept an assignment to the D-League that triggered the suspension, but later relented and averaged 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Houston traded White to Philadelphia in July, but he was waived by the 76ers shortly before the start of the season.
