NFL Network fires Darren Sharper as analyst after he turned himself in on rape charges.

March 1 (UPI) -- Former NFL player Darren Sharper was fired from his job as an analyst for the NFL Network after he surrendered to Los Angeles police on two counts of aggravated rape.

He had been suspended indefinitely without pay Jan. 18 after he was arrested for drug possession.

The former New Orleans saint is accused of raping a total of nine women and drugging 11 in five states. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Under the terms of his release from jail in Los Angeles on $1 million bail, he was forced to hand over his passport and ordered to stay away from all women.
