SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Brad Jacobs paced Canada to a 9-3 victory over Britain Friday to complete a sweep of the Olympic curling gold medals at the Sochi Games.

The Canadian women finished off an unbeaten run through their tournament on Thursday and the men dominated the championship meeting with Britain to win their third straight gold medal.

In his role as skip, Jacobs came through with decisive efforts in the first and third ends for a total of five points and the Canadians easily held on from there.

Jacobs was joined on the winning team by Ryan Fry, E.J. Harnden and Caleb Flaxey.

The Canadian men opened the nine-match, round-robin portion of the tournament with two losses in their first three outings and then ran off eight straight victories en route to the gold medal.

The bronze medal was won by Sweden with a 6-4 decision over China. Sweden's only loss in the round-robin tourney came against Canada and the Swedes fell to Britain in the semifinals.

China missed out on what would have been its first medal after going 7-2 in the preliminary phase of the tournament.
