Olympic Medal: Women's Figure Skating

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Adelina Sotnikova of Russia won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in women's figure skating.

The silver went to defending Olympic champion Yuna Kim of South Korea and the bronze was won by Carolina Kosner of Italy. American Gracie Gold finished fourth.

Sotnikova became only the second female Russian medalist in Olympic figure skating and the first ever to win a gold. Irina Slutskaya won a silver medal in 2002 and a bronze one in 2006.
