ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocked his fiancee unconscious at an Atlantic City, N.J., casino, a court summons issued Wednesday alleged. The summons, obtained by WJZ-TV, Baltimore, said Rice had been ordered to appear in Atlantic City Municipal Court after allegedly striking girlfriend Janay Palmer with his hand hard enough to "(render) her unconscious" during a Saturday altercation at the Revel Casino.

Palmer was issued a summons that alleged she hit the three-time Pro Bowl pick with her hand during an incident in a casino elevator.
Prosecutors have charged Rice with simple assault and domestic violence. Palmer faces similar charges.
Authorities have canceled a scheduled Feb. 25 court appearance to review the evidence, WJZ reported.
A video posted by celebrity news website TMZ.com Wednesday claimed to show Rice dragging a motionless Palmer out of the elevator.
The running back's attorney issued a statement cautioning the video only shows the end of what happened and not the actual fight.
Rice, who signed five-year, $35 million deal with Baltimore prior to the 2012 season, ran for a career-low 3.1 yards per carry least season, totaling 660 yards.
