SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Elizabeth Yarnold of Britain won the Olympic gold medal Friday in the women's skeleton.
The silver medal went to Noelle Pikus-Pace of the United States, who came out of retirement in hope of finally winning an Olympic medal.

The bronze was won by Elena Nikitina of Russia. American Katie Uhlaender finished fourth, missing out on a medal by 0.04 second.
Yarnold's gold was the first for Britain at these Olympics.
