SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Natalie Geisenberger of Germany won the Olympic gold medal Tuesday in women's luge singles.

Geisenberger won the bronze medal in the event four years ago in Vancouver.

The silver went to Tatjana Huefner of Germany, giving her a medal of every color over the last three Olympics.

American Erin Hamlin took the bronze, becoming the first athlete from the United States to win a medal in women's luge since the sport was introduced in the Winter Olympics a half century ago.
