Berdych rolls in ATP second round in Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Tomas Berdych didn't face a break point Monday in a first-round win at the ATP's ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in the Netherlands.

Berdych rolled by Andreas Seppi 6-3, 6-3 in 66 minutes. He had nine aces and was good on 72 percent of his first serves. Berdych lost only seven points over nine games serving.

No. 5-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga need to rally but advanced by beating Florian Mayer 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Tsonga saw only one break point -- he lost it and it cost him the first set -- but won more than 70 percent of the points when serving.

Qualifiers Paul-Henri Mathieu and Michael Berrer moved into the second round after Mathieu took out Ivan Dodig 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 and Berrer defeated Jesse Huta Galung 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

Monday's final match saw Philipp Kohlschreiber ousting Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-2, 7-5. Kohlschreiber win 80 percent of the points on serve and didn't allow Stakhovsky a break opportunity.

Juan Martin del Potro, ranked fourth in the world and seeded first, is the tournament defending champion. He is to play Gael Monfils, who is coming off a tournament win Sunday in Montpellier, France, in the first round.
