TOKYO, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Kei Nishikori and Yasutaka Uchiyama teamed for a four-set doubles win Saturday that put Japan ahead 2-1 over Canada in their best-of-five Davis Cup series.
Nishikori, 18th in the world rankings, was a late substitute for world No. 153 Yuichi Sugita and the switch paid off in a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4 decision over Canadians Frank Dancevic and Daniel Nestor.
