DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Jessica Korda's win in the LPGA's season-opening tournament improves her standing in the women's world golf rankings by 16 spots.

Korda's second shot was long on the par-5 18th hole but she was able to putt from off the green, winding up 6 feet from the hole. She made that putt for birdie and the tournament title.

Korda, whose other LPGA title came at the Women's Australian Open two years ago, moves from 40th to No. 24 in the rankings.

The women's golf rankings Top 10 remains unchanged after the first tournament of the season. Inbee Park is No. 1, a position she's held for the last 41 weeks.

The LPGA is off this week before a series of events in Asia, beginning Feb. 13 with the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open in Victoria. Korda won the event in 2012 and Jiyai Shin took the tournament last year.
