NHL: Colorado 5, Nashville 4

NASHVILLE, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Colorado got two goals and an assist from Nick Holden Saturday in a rare win in Nashville, 5-4 victory over the Predators.

Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog and Jan Hejda also scored for the Avalanche, who built a 5-1 lead but had to hang on for the victory as Nashville scored a trio of third-period goals.

Paul Stastny returned from a two-game absence (leg injury) with two assists as Colorado notched its first road win over the Predators since Jan. 6, 2009 -- a span of seven games.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 26-of-30 shots.

Roman Josi supplied a goal and an assist for Nashville, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.

Patric Hornqvist, Craig Smith and Ryan Ellis also scored.

Devan Dubnyk, acquired from Edmonton this week, turned aside 24-of-29 shots in his Predators debut.
