NBA: Minnesota 98, Utah 72

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Love each had a double-double Saturday and Minnesota took the opener of a home-and-home series with a 98-72 pounding of Utah.

Pekovic provided 27 points with 14 rebounds and Love added 18 and 13 for the Timberwolves, who will play in Utah Tuesday.

Kevin Martin chipped in 20 points and Ricky Rubio notched six points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the T-Wolves snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Jazz managed just 23 points in the first half, shooting a paltry 28.8 percent from the field for the game.

Alec Burks netted 18 points as Utah fell to Minnesota for the first time in six meetings.
