NEW YORK, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The National Football League announced Wednesday Terry McAulay would be the referee for the Super Bowl.

It will be the third NFL title game for McAulay, who is in his 16th season as a game official in the league. He was the referee for New England's win over Philadelphia in 2005 and Pittsburgh's triumph over Arizona in 2009.
