NHL: Minnesota 4, Nashville 0

NASHVILLE, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Darcy Kuemper logged his first career shutout with 23 saves Sunday, backstopping the Minnesota Wild to a 4-0 whitewash of Nashville.

Kuemper, making his fourth start of the season and 10th of his career, stopped nine shots in each of the second and third periods in notching a second victory in as many games.

Dany Heatley provided a goal and an assist for the Wild, who picked up a fifth win in six games.

Matt Cooke, Jason Zucker and Marco Scandella also scored.

Marek Mazanec turned aside 19-of-23 shots for the Predators, who dropped a third straight and sixth in seven contests overall.
