NBA: Brooklyn 89, Cleveland 82

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Deron Williams connected for 21 points and Paul Pierce posted a career milestone Saturday in the Brooklyn Nets' 89-82 victory over Cleveland.

Pierce scored 17 points, passing Allen Iverson for 19th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Andray Blatche put in 12 points as Brooklyn notched a second straight win despite just two points from leading scorer Joe Johnson.

Reggie Evans hauled down 11 rebounds to go with eight points.

Dion Waiters led the Cavaliers with 26 points off the bench as Cleveland fell for the seventh time in eight games.
