NBA: New Orleans 105, Denver 89

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Tyreke Evans came off the bench to flirt with a triple-double Friday, leading New Orleans to a 105-89 triumph over Denver.

The Pelicans have won consecutive games after losing four in a row. They placed six players in double figures and owned a 17-point lead heading into the final period.

Evans scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dealt out 10 assists. Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis both scored 17 points for the Pelicans while Ryan Anderson contributed 16 points and 10 boards.

Denver lost its season-worst fifth straight game, failing to reach 100 points in any of those setbacks. The Nuggets were held to 40 percent shooting and lost the rebounding battle 53-42.

Wilson Chandler scored 22 points for Denver.
