NBA: Houston 109, Chicago 94

HOUSTON, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard made 11-of-14 shots from the field Wednesday and scored 23 points, pacing Houston to a 109-94 victory over Chicago.

The Rockets held the Bulls scoreless for a stretch of almost five minutes spanning the third and fourth quarters to break open the game. The Bulls lost their third in a row and fell for the sixth time in seven outings.

Chandler Parsons and James Harden both scored 19 points for Houston, which hit 53 percent of its field goal attempts.

Houston had a seven-point lead when Chicago went into its scoring drought. The Rockets built an 85-66 lead less than a minute deep in the fourth period.

Jimmy Butler scored 20 points to lead the Bulls and Luol Deng added 18.
