Dwight King staked Jones and the Kings to a 1-0 lead in the first period. Jordan Nolan provided some breathing room with a goal at 15:22 of the third period, and Dustin Brown tapped in an empty-net score for his 400th career point.

Jones overshadowed a fine performance by Edmonton goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who allowed two goals despite being peppered by a dozen or more shots in each period.
