NHL: Anaheim 5, Detroit 2

DETROIT, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Jakob Silfverberg returned from a long injury absence with a goal Tuesday and the streaking Anaheim Ducks handed Detroit a sixth straight loss, 5-2.

Silfverberg, who had missed 24 games with a broken hand, erased an early 1-0 Detroit lead with a goal less than 4 minutes into the game and the Ducks followed with scores from Nick Bonino, Corey Perry and Sami Vatanen before the initial period was over.

Saku Koivu also scored as the Pacific Division-leading Ducks reeled off a sixth straight win.

Jonas Hiller earned the victory with 16 saves.

Danny Cleary scored and Tomas Jurco added his first career goal for the staggering Red Wings.

Jonas Gustavsson was pulled in the first period after yielding three goals on 11 shots.

Petr Mrazek stopped 17-of-19 the rest of the way.
