NHL: Los Angeles 5, Ottawa 2

OTTAWA, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar netted a pair of goals Saturday and the Los Angeles Kings reeled off a sixth straight win with a 5-2 spanking of Ottawa.

Jeff Carter and Dwight King each supplied a goal and an assist for the Kings, who set an NHL recorded by not allowing a first-period goal for the 18th straight game.

Jarrett Stoll also scored and rookie goaltender Martin Jones improved to 5-0 in five career starts, stopping 37 shots.

Erik Karlsson and Joe Corvo each scored for the Senators.

Craig Anderson was pulled from the net after yielding two quick goals in the first period. Robin Lehner stopped 19-of-22 shots the rest of the way for Ottawa.
