NHL: Calgary 2, Carolina 1 (OT)

CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Chris Butler's goal with four seconds left in overtime Thursday gave Calgary a 2-1 triumph over Carolina.

The Calgary win came on the day both General Manager Jay Feaster and assistant John Weisbrod were fired. The dismissals were carried out with the Flames owning the second worst record in the Western Conference.

Brian McGrattan opened the scoring for Calgary in the second period with his first of the season. McGrattan has scored just seven goals in 261 NHL games over eight seasons with five teams.

Carolina tied it on Jeff Skinner's goal midway through the third. The Hurricanes have lost three in a row.

The win went to Karri Ramo, who had 29 saves including the stop of a penalty shot in the third period. Justin Peters turned aside 28-of-30 shots for Carolina.
