NBA: Portland 111, Houston 104

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge started out cold Thursday but warmed up in the second half to help bring Portland a 111-104 home win over Houston.

Aldridge was just 1-of-7 shooting in the first 20 minutes but ended up with 31 points and 25 boards for the Trail Blazers. He shot 11-of-15 from the field in the remaining 28 minutes.

Robin Lopez contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Wesley Matthews added 18 points for Portland, which has won six of its last seven contests and scored in triple digits for the 10th straight game.

Dwight Howard had 32 points and 17 rebounds, and James Harden added 25 points, seven assists and six boards in the loss.

Houston was up 44-43 at halftime, and the score was tied at 76-76 going into the fourth quarter, but the Trail Blazers took the next 10 points and held the rest of the way.
