NHL: St. Louis 2, Winnipeg 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Kevin Shattenkirk scored on a deflected shot during a third-period power play Tuesday, providing the difference in the St. Louis Blues' 2-1 win over Winnipeg.

The Blues went on a man-advantage with 3:26 left in a 1-1 tie game after Dustin Byfuglien was whistled for hooking.

Shattenkirk got the puck in the high slot 26 seconds later and launched a shot that changed direction after hitting the stick of the Jets' Bryan Little. It knuckled past Ondrej Pavelec for the decisive score.

Alex Steen also got a goal and Brian Elliott made 20 saves as the Blues picked up their 20th victory of the season with a seventh triumph in 10 games.

Little scored and Pavelec finished with 18 stops for Winnipeg.
