Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford injured, out three weeks

CHICAGO, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford has a lower-body injury and will miss about three weeks, Coach Joel Quenneville said Tuesday.

Crawford was hurt in the first period of Chicago's 5-2 victory over Florida Sunday while making a leg save on Marcel Goc and had to be helped off the ice.

Quenneville didn't specify the injury, but the Chicago Sun-Times reported the goaltender sustained a pulled groin.

Crawford had compiled a 17-6-3 record this season with a 2.47 goals against average.

His starting spot will be assumed by Antti Raanta, who has gone 3-0-1 with a 2.16 GAA.

Goaltender Kent Simpson was recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League to take Crawford's roster spot due to an injury to regular backup Nikolai Khabibulin.
