NHL: Washington 5, Nashville 2

WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Eric Fehr led an offensive assault with a goal and an assist Saturday, driving the Washington Capitals over Nashville 5-2.

Alex Ovechkin's goal was his 22nd of the season. Troy Brouwer, Karl Alzner and Nate Schmidt each scored as the Capitals won for the third time in four games.

Braden Holtby made 34 saves to earn the victory.

Roman Josi provided a goal and an assist as Nashville stumbled to its fifth straight loss.

Eric Nystrom also scored and Marek Mazanec stopped 28 shots for the Predators.
