Buffalo's Luke Adam brought about a 2-2 tie with his goal late in the second period and that is the way it stayed until Ehrhoff scored on a long wrist shot that sailed through traffic and eluded James Reimer.
Matt Moulson picked up the other Buffalo goal while Phil Kessel and Nikolai Kulemin scored for the Maple Leafs.
Ryan Miller collected the win with 22 saves. Reimer stopped 26-of-29 shots.
