NHL: New York Rangers 5, Florida 2

SUNRISE, Fla., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Rick Nash gave New York a three-goal lead and touched off a wild final period Wednesday in the Rangers' 5-2 decision over Florida.

New York improved to 3-1-0 on its five-game road trip, getting off to a big start and riding the solid goaltending of Henrik Lundqvist.

Derick Brassard and Brad Richards each scored during the first two periods to put the Rangers in charge heading into the final stanza, during which the teams combined to score seven times.

Nash began the final period outburst 5:32 into the frame and the Rangers also came up with goals from Mats Zuccarello and Carl Hagelin.

Lundqvist stopped 31-of-35 shots while Tim Thomas gave up four goals on 21 shots.

It was Florida's third loss in four games.
