NHL: Carolina 4, New Jersey 3

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Patrick Dwyer's goal late in the second period put Carolina in front by three Wednesday and the Hurricanes survived a New Jersey comeback for a 4-3 win.

Carolina scored three times in the middle period against Martin Brodeur, who allowed all four goals on just 22 shots.

Tuomo Ruutu and Ron Haisey also scored in the second period, pushing the Hurricanes to their second straight win.

Andy Greene tallied for New Jersey 8:30 into the third period and Jaromir Jagr produced his 10th of the season with 1:47 to go in regulation.

Cam Ward then slammed the door and picked up the victory with 19 saves. The Devils have lost three in a row.
