Stuard in front at PGA's rain-delayed tournament in Mexico

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Brian Stuard owns a one-stroke lead at the PGA's OHL Classic at Mayakoba but weather issues left the first round unfinished Thursday.

Play was delayed nearly 2 1/2 hours because of wet conditions at one point and a second delay led to suspension of play. There has been more than 1 foot of rain at the El Camaleon course over the last 10 days.

Only 15 players completed the first round Thursday.

Organizers said play would resume at 7:45 a.m. EST Friday and the second round would begin as soon as possible after the first round was completed.

Stuard, with six birdies and a bogey, was 5-under through 15 holes. Erik Compton, who has played 17 holes, and Alvaro Quiros, who got 15 in, are at 4-under. Four players, including Jeff Maggert, are at 3-under.

Among players who finished 18 holes Thursday, Matt Jones, Will MacKenzie and Len Mattiace share the clubhouse lead at 2-under.
