NBA: Charlotte 89, Boston 83

BOSTON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Al Jefferson's layup with 18 seconds to play gave Charlotte a four-point lead Wednesday and the Bobcats went on to down Boston 89-83.

The Celtics had won four in a row, but shot only 37 percent from the field and were unable to sustain any late-game momentum after a 3-point play by Jordan Crawford cut their deficit to two with 33 seconds remaining.

After Crawford gave Boston a chance to pull out a victory, Charlotte's Kemba Walker missed a layup. Jefferson was there, however, to grab the offensive rebound and put in the shot that gave the Bobcats some breathing room.

Gerald Henderson then stole the ball from Boston's Avery Bradley and the two free throws that followed from Henderson wrapped up the game.

Jefferson led the way for Charlotte with 22 points and Henderson had 13. Jeff Green paced the Celtics with 19.
