NHL: Nashville 6, Colorado 4

DENVER, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Colin Wilson scored the tiebreaking goal 7:34 into the third period Wednesday and Nashville went on to down Colorado 6-4.

The Predators denied Colorado what would have been the second 13-1 start in NHL history.

Colorado won its first six games of the season, lost to Detroit and then won six more before falling to the Predators. The only team in league history to begin a year with a 13-1 record has been the 2007-08 Ottawa Senators.

Colorado never led, but came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the contest at 4-4 on a goal by Matt Duchene early in the third.

Wilson then put the Predators back in front with a backhander that beat Semyon Varlamov and Gabriel Bourque clinched the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Nashville won its second in a row with Wilson scoring twice on three shots. His power-play goal 6:47 into the second period gave Nashville a 4-2 lead.

Carter Hutton collected the win by making 27 saves. Varmalov gave up five goals on 27 shots.
