NBA: New Orleans 99, Memphis 84

MEMPHIS, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Eric Gordon paced a first-period run Wednesday that sent New Orleans coasting to a 99-84 decision over Memphis.

The Pelicans put together a 14-2 surge in the opening quarter and eventually took a 22-point advantage into the closing 12 minutes.

New Orleans won on the road for the first time and handed the Grizzlies their first home loss.

Gordon scored 19 points, Anthony Davis had 18 and Tyreke Evans came off the New Orleans bench to contribute 16. The Pelicans made 19-of-21 free throws and forced 18 turnovers.

Mike Conley led Memphis with 26 points while hitting 10-of-16 from the field.
