NBA: Dallas 123, Los Angeles Lakers 104

DALLAS, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis scored 30 points and Jae Crowder added 18 Tuesday and the Dallas Mavericks throttled the Los Angeles Lakers 123-104.

Ellis, who also had nine assists, scored nearly as many points as the Lakers' starting five, who managed a total of 35 points in the game.

The Mavericks shot an efficient 52.1 percent from the field, hit 13-of-27 shots from 3-point range and outscored the Lakers in the paint 52-36.

Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion both scored 11 points for the Mavs, who are 3-0 at home this season.

Nick Young came off the bench to lead the Lakers with 21 points. Jordan Farmar and Jodie Meeks both totaled 11 points, and Pau Gasol scored 10.

Los Angeles trailed 35-22 at the end of the first quarter and only outscored Dallas in the third quarter.
