NBA: Atlanta 102, Toronto 95

ATLANTA, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Al Horford led Atlanta to a big third-quarter lead Friday and the Hawks held on to defeat Toronto 102-95.

The win came in Atlanta's home opener and was the first victory as an NBA head coach for the Hawks' Mike Budenholzer.

Atlanta opened an 18-point advantage with 4:32 to go in the third and fought off a Toronto comeback that saw the Raptors climb within five with 4:06 left in the contest.

Horford scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while both Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague had 17 points. Teague also chipped in a dozen assists.

DeMar DeRozan scored 31 points in a losing effort, hitting 14-of-23 shots from the field.
