NHL: Los Angeles 4, San Jose 3 (OT)

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar scored at the midway point of overtime Wednesday to give Los Angeles a 4-3 victory over San Jose.

Kopitar's goal, his second of the season, came with San Jose's Justin Braun in the penalty box for hooking.

The Sharks lost for only the third time in 13 games this season with two of those setbacks having come in overtime.

Los Angeles faced a 3-2 deficit heading into the third period, but Justin Williams scored on the power play with 7:39 to go in regulation. It was the third time the Kings had overcome a one-goal deficit.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture scored the San Jose goals. The first two Los Angeles tallies came from Drew Doughty and Jarret Stoll.

Jonathan Quick collected the win by making 17 saves. Antti Niemi stopped 19-of-23 shots.
