NEW YORK, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Struggling New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist won't be on the ice for the team's next game, head Coach Alain Vigneault said Wednesday.

Instead, rookie Cam Talbot -- recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League this week -- is set to make his NHL debut Thursday in Philadelphia.

Vigneault said Lundqvist -- who has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.45 goals-against average so far this season -- has been sidelined with an unspecified "minor" injury issue.

"It's something that's day-to-day that we think we can nip it in the bud," he told the New York Daily News. "It might take one more day, maybe two, but it's something he should be able to turn the page on and you won't hear about it anymore."

The 31-year-old Swedish netminder wrote on his Twitter account his injury isn't serious.

"Not the start of the season I was looking for. But no looking back. Trying to stay positive and things will turn around for me/us."

Talbot has compiled a 4-0-1 mark with a 2.49 goals against average in five games for Hartford this season.
